Cease-fire sa NPA ipinatupad na

DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 29, 2014) – Matapos na magmatigas at ibasura ang cease-fire na hinihingi ng New People’s Army sa Mindanao ay binawi naman agad ito ng militar, ngunit hindi naman sinabi ng mga opisyal ang dahilan ng pagbaligtad nito.

Sa pahayag ni Capt. Albarto Caber, ang spokesman ng Eastern Mindanao Command, ay sakop ng cease-fire o ang suspension of military operations ang bayan ng Placer, Bacuag, Tubod, Gigakit, Claver atAlegria sa Surigao del Norte; at sa bayan ng Santiago, Kitcharao at Jabonga sa Agusan del Norte naman.

Sinabi ni Caber na ang kautusan ay “directive issued by higher headquarters” at 5 araw ang itatagal ng cease-fire.

“The 5-day ceasefire temporarily prevents the AFP from the conduct of deliberate offensive operations against the NPA except on movements or activities aimed to support the civil authorities, government instrumentalities and other agencies in promoting peace, development and humanitarian assistance programs,” wika nito.

Naunang ibinasura ni Lt. Gen. Ricardo Rainier Cruz III, ang pinuno ng Eastern Mindanao Command, ang hiling ng NPA na magkaroon ng cease-fire upang mabigyan ng sapat panahon ang pagpapalaya nito sa 4 parak na kanilang nabihag sa bayan ng Alegria.

Ang mga bihag na sina PO3 Vic Concon, PO1 Rey Morales, PO1 Joen Zabala at PO1 Edito Roquiño ay inaasahang mapapalaya sa lalong madaling panahon ngayon may cease-fire na. (Mindanao Examiner)
