CEBU – The Cebu provincial government has formally donated to the police force the 5,000 square meters of property located in Sudlon in Cebu City which is the site now of the two-storey Cebu Provincial Police Office building.
Governor Hilario Davide III said the donation also included the building which the provincial government also built in 2009. Police Director General Alan Purisima received the donation following the signing in Cebu of the deed of donation just recently. Regional police chief Prudencio Tom Bañas and provincial police chief Noel Gillamac witnessed the signing ceremony.
Many towns in Cebu are also willing to donate land for police offices.
Davide also assured the continuing support and commitment of the provincial government to the police force.
Purisima praised the provincial government for its support to the police and said: “It has always been a dream of every police station to have a place that it can call its home. Today that dream has become a reality.”
He said the support of the provincial government boosts the morale of policemen and contributes to their individual confidence and performance.
Bañas, on the other hand, said they are highly motivated and inspired by the support of the provincial and local government officials.
Gillamac said the provincial police office will be named Camp General Arcadio Maxilom as endorsed by the Municipal Council of Tuburan and the Cebu Provincial Board. (Xerxes Alkuino)
