THE CEBU Provincial Government, through its disaster management and information offices, recently met with SEEDS ASIA to coordinate efforts in coming up and implementing a child-centered disaster risk reduction and management plan.
The plan involves capacity-building in schools, training of teachers and empowering the children, noting their influence on parents.
This is to further improve Cebu’s disaster-preparedness, according to provincial spokeswoman Ethel Natera.
Some P49 million fund are being readied for capacity-building projects this year.
Disaster management chief Baltz Tribunalo said the curriculum and Information, Education and Communication campaign programs are ready now and available. (LTL)
