Chinese firm to build air and seaports in Cotabato

Chief Editor February 7, 2018

COTABATO CITY – The Cotabato City Government and China Engineering Construction Company have recently signed a memorandum of understanding for two major infrastructure projects here worth nearly a billion pesos, officials said.

Officials said the projects – a new airport and a seaport – will be undertaken by both parties under the government’s Public-Private Partnership.

The projects are expected to start this month after the celebration of the Chinese New Year, according to Bin Liu, the company’s CEO, who added that he also wanted to build a sports complex here using his own funds.

He said the projects, when completed, can attract tourists to Cotabato City. (Amyrra Chielzy Rahmani)
