ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 23, 2013) – Zamboanga police on Tuesday arrested a prime suspect behind the attack on a Coca-Cola truck that killed two crewmen and seriously wounded another in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Norte, officials said.
Chief Inspector Elmer Acuña said they arrested Aljari Jalani shortly after he arrived by bus at a terminal here following a tip-off from the province.
“He was positively identified by the lone survivor, who is still recuperating at the hospital here, as among those who shot them,” Acuña said.
Police said Jalani was a former government militia in Sirawai town where the truck, owned by Constantino Soriano, was traveling in the village of Piña when gunmen opened fire.
The attack killed driver Conrado Recohermoso and his salesman Joy Estrada and wounded their helper Alvin Lumonah. (Mindanao Examiner)
