ZAMBOANGA CITY – A court employee was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in the southern Philippines, reports said.
It said Ibnohajar Puntukan, 63, was killed in the capital town of Jolo in Sulu province on Wednesday afternoon in San Raymundo village. No other details were immediately available on the murder of Puntukan, who was a court interpreter.
The provincial police chief Abraham Orbita and the Jolo municipal police authorities did not give any statement about the killing.
The Supreme Court has ordered an investigation into the murder of Puntukan. It was unknown if the killing was related to his work or family feud.
Orbita have been silent on many crime-related incidents in his province and would not even talk to journalists. (Mindanao Examiner)
