Customs tameme sa Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Natameme ang Bureau of Custom sa Zamboanga City matapos na mabigo itong makuha ang halos 100 tonelada ng mga asukal na ipinuslit dito.

Naharang kamakalawa ng mga parak ang 3 lantsa na may karga sa mga kontrabando di-kalayuan sa isla ng Sacol at dinala ang mga ito sa Barangay Taluksangay upang ma-imbentaryo.

Anim na sako rin na may kakaibang laman at posibleng sangkap sa droga ang nakumpiska sa mga lantsa. Agad naman pinuntahan ni Customs chief benhur Arabani ang mga kargamento upang dalhin ito sa kanilan g bodega.

Ngunit tumanggi naman ang mga opisyal ng barangay at si Councilor Lilibeth Nuno na ibigay ang mga ito sa takot na mawala mula sa pangangalaga ng Customs dito. Ilang beses ng nawala sa bodega ng Customs ang libo-libong sakop ng smuggled rice sa mga nakalipas na panahon.

Hindi pa mabatid kung sino ang may-ari ng mga asukal na galing pa sa Thailand. Halos 2000 sakop ng asukal ang nasabat.

Sinabi ni Nuno na ibibigay lamang nila ang mga asukal kay Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon na dumating kahapon sa Zamboanga. Ipinag-utos ni Faeldon ang isang masusing imbestigasyon sa takbo ng Customs dito. Marami ng opisyal ng Customs dito ang nasibak sa puwesto matapos na madawit sa smuggling. (Mindanao Examiner)
