CEBU CITY – Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte expressed her deep gratitude and thanked Cebuanos for their continued and unwavering support to President Rodrigo Duterte.
Sara, who was recently in Cebu for the opening of the month-long celebration of the 450th founding anniversary of the province, spoke to the locals and repeatedly thanked them for supporting Duterte’s remaining three years of his term. Duterte is to step down on 2022.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia accompanied Sara during her visit. Sara also hailed the province’s socio-economic development and for being the “center of trade, commerce, education, and industry in the Visayas for the past four and a half centuries.”
“The Province of Cebu is definitely a force to be reckoned with. And the proof of the province how it has positioned itself as a main tourism and investment destination south of Manila is something other places and local government units can learn from, especially Davao City and Davao Region,” Sara also told members of the provincial board, town mayors and their vice mayors, and other officials.
Sara noted the efforts of the officials of Cebu’s 44 towns and seven cities in coming together in the shared pursuit of sustainable development. For her part, Garcia said there were hardships and challenges, “yet we stood firmly, ready to face the next tomorrow. That is the indubitable unbreakable skills of the Cebuanos.”
“I say with deep sense of hope because throughout the four and a half centuries, we have seen the colonization of Cebu, the coming of the Americans, the occupation by the Japanese, the typhoons, the earthquakes and the attempts to break up Cebu into four provinces…we not only survived, we prevailed,” she said.
