Davao City PNP bags ‘Best Police Office’ award

Chief Editor August 3, 2018

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has bagged the “Best City Police Office” national award for 2017, the second in a row for the local police force.

Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum, DCPO director, said the feat means more responsibilities to ensure a secure and peaceful Davao City.

He attributed the award to the men and women of the DCPO, as well as the strong support of the city government, to the local police force.

He also urged all personnel of the DCPO to double their efforts for a safe and secure Davao City. “This means additional responsibility for the men and women of DCPO to be the exemplary police of the whole police organization,” he said.

Tagum said the recognition did not come easy as it required the cooperation and support of everybody, both in operational and administrative aspect. He said the local police must not rest on its laurels saying there is still room for improvements so that people can walk in any corner and nook of the city without fear.

Senior Insp. Maria Teresita Gaspan, DCPO spokeswoman, said the City Mobile Force was also named the Best City Mobile Force this year. (Lilian C. Mellejor)
