DAVAO CITY – The Southpoint School once again proved that it has one of the top soccer teams in Davao City after it won 2 trophies and some medals in the Davao Football Club-Hyenas Kadayawan football festival recently.

Southpoint settled for second place finish after falling to perennial rival Crocs Football Club 3-0 in the Finals.

The team is made up of Charles Kenn Chiu, Zyk Lopez, Jared Distancia, Jian Matthew Goyonan, Karlos Donado, Kristoff Madrid, Yuan Jacob Guingguing, Luiz Digman, Cedric Villamor, Anthony Elorde, and Art Romeo Eroy.

Despite their finish, Greg Napuran, the coach of the eight and under, is still happy with the result since the team were able to duplicate their second place finish in the Independence Day Football Cup.

Meanwhile the 10 and under division of Southpoint also took the third place in the same football tournament after beating the Wao, Lanao del Sur football club in a thrilling penalty shoot-out for third place 1-0.

The team composed of Bob Benedict Braceros, Karl Sumampong, Carlos Angelo Lacerna, Gian Lacerna, Devon Kierulf, Andrei Joshua Guingguing, EJ Cabiles, Adrian Elarmo, Raymond Pahuyo, Ryan Gabriel Jamisola Dordas, Henrich Denilla, John Morales, Gerald Coronado and Christopher Josh Manuel.

Although they only landed in the third place, the coach of the 10 and under team Jonard Pinonggan said he was happy with the performance of his team since their hard work and intensive practices have yielded a positive result. (B. Braceros)
