MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / June 7, 2013) – The Department of Foreign Affairs has signed a resolution of the Committee on the Special Protection of Children to implement the Protocol for Case Management of Child Victims of Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation.
It said Undersecretary Evan Garcia signed the Protocol that sets standards and guidelines when assisting a child victim, defines the roles and responsibilities of different agencies, improves inter-agency coordination and includes a flowchart outlining the referral process from the moment the case of child abuse is reported to the healing, recovery and reintegration of the child.
One of its highlights is the respect for confidentiality which involves the use of aliases, and the exclusion of the presence of media in rescue operations of child victims.
Created under Executive Order No. 53, series of 2011, the CSPC is an inter-agency body created to act as the coordinating body for the implementation of Republic Act No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
