ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 16, 2014) – Even doctors are no longer safe from thieves in Zamboanga City, this after the police reported that a robbery took place right inside one of the biggest hospitals here.
Police said the clinic of Dr. Maria Liza Aissah Santos in Ciudad Medical Hospital at Mayor Vitaliano Agan Avenue was burglarized after her secretary, Vivian Patalinghug, discovered the room at the second floor of the building in total disarray.
“Immediately members of the Police Station 11 proceeded to hospital to verify the report. Thereat, the sliding window of the said clinic was opened and the drawers in the table of Dr. Santos and Vivian Patalinghug were also opened, and likewise several things inside the clinic were scattered,” the police reported.
It said some P3,000 in cash were missing from the clinic.
Police said the sliding window of the clinic was forcibly opened, but it was unknown how the thief managed to scale the building to gain access to the clinic.
It was not immediately known if there were surveillance cameras around the hospital.(Mindanao Examiner)
