COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 13, 2014) – The Department of Public Works and Highways in the Muslim autonomous region said it will concrete a 7-kilometer farm-to-market road in the town of Talayan in Maguindanao province in southern Philippines.

Regional Secretary Emil Sadain said once completed, the P70-million road project will hasten the transport of farm products and help spur economic growth in the area.

Sadain has signed a memorandum of agreement with Talayan Mayor Tungkang Midtimbang for the road project that will link several villages in the town.

The town of Buldon, also in Maguindanao, also inaugurated a 1.4 kilometer road project that links the village of Tamar to the main highway. Another road project, the 1.3 kilometer stretch in the village of Calaan, is also expected to begin soon. (Mindanao Examiner)
