DAVAO CITY – Muling ipinagtanggol ni Pangulong Duterte ang sarili sa pagkakadawit nito kay dating Justice Secretary at ngayon Senator Leila De Lima sa ilegal na droga at pakiki-apid nito diumano sa kanyang driver.
Inamin ni Duterte na mismong mga kamag-anakang babae nito ang nagtatanong sa kanya kung bakit kailangan pa nitong kalkalin at isapubliko ang personal na buhay ni De Lima.
Sa kanyang news conference sa Davao City, sinabi ni Duterte na dahil kay De Lima ay lumala ang sitwasyon sa Bilibid prison dahil sa ilegal na droga at sa impluwensya ng senador noon ito ay nasa Department of Justice pa.
“The crooks of the matter is if I do not talk about that relationship of De Lima to his driver then there is no topic to talk about because what is really very crucial there is the fact that because of that relationship with her driver which I termed immoral because the driver has a family and wife, that connection gave rise to the corruption of what was happening inside the National Penitentiary kaya nga nagkaroon ng special privileges,” ani Duterte.
Tinanong pa nito ang mga mamamahayag na hindi ba sila nagtaka sa talamak na operasyon ng ilegal na droga sa Bilibid noon panahon ni De Lima. Anmg Bilibid prison ay nasa ilalim ng Department of Justice.
“Are you not surprised that during her term and for a longer period when she became the secretary of Department of Justice there were special privileges granted to all or almost all inmates, there were guns there inside, there were parties being held almost every night, there was a combo, a musical group. Liquors and alcoholic drinks flowed freely and women went inside and out the prison.”
“Now if I do not mention the connect between the senator who was then the secretary of Justice and her driver, how would I now explain to the public that things happened, the partying, drugs and even cooking shabu went well unbridled, unhampered because of the driver himself. Would you think that a driver of the Department of Justice employee could have allowed these things by all and himself, these illegal things which you saw on TV almost every day for about a month, do you think without De Lima giving him the authority to allow the inmates to do that all of these could have only happened if there was the go signal from the head of the department which is the secretary,” paliwanag pa ni Duterte.
Pinangalanan rin ni Duterte ang driver ni De Lima na si Ronnie Dayan na isa sa mga ilang bagman ng senador noon ito ay pinuno pa ng Department of Justice.
“He was also one of the bagmen, there was also another fellow there and all these things happened under your nose and shabu was floating inside and what was really painful and we knew and I know they were trafficking shabu from the inside,” wika ni Duterte.
Naunang sinabi ni De Lima na wala na sa kanyang poder si Dayan at kamakailan lamang ay tumawag diumano sa kanya upang sabihin na siya ay nagtatago at hindi makauwi sa bahay dahil may mga grupo umanong naghahanap sa kanya. Tikom pa rin ang bibig ni De Lima sa relasyon nito sa dating driver na kanya pa umanong pinatayuan ng malaking bahay sa Batangay Galarin sa Urbiztondo, Pangasinan. (Mindanao Examiner)
