
DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 25, 2012) – A moderate earthquake early Tuesday shook the southern Filipino province of Davao del Sur in Mindanao Island.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake registered magnitude 4.9 in the Richter scale. It said the epicenter of the earthquake was traced southeast of Saranggani.
It said the origin of the quake was tectonic about 27 kilometers underneath the earth.
There were no reports of damages to buildings or casualties, it said. (Mindanao Examiner)
