Ethiopian maid who butchered lady of house executed – Arab News

Editor January 11, 2016

An Ethiopian housemaid, who was convicted of killing her female sponsor, was executed in Taif on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Interior.
The death sentence, which was delivered in January last year and appealed by the convict, was upheld during subsequent hearings.
In 2013, Jinnat Damti Farid struck her sponsor eight times on the head with an axe while she was praying the Dhur prayer at her residence in Musailat village, southern Taif.
Ati bin Attiya Al-Qurashi, spokesman of Makkah Police, said the investigation had revealed that the maid, who was in her 30s, committed the crime with the intention of theft. A sum of SR7,000 was found in her possession when she was arrested.
The husband of the deceased, Ghalia Aidah bint Said, had welcomed the death sentence and pressed for its speedy implementation.(MOHAMMED RASOOLDEEN)
