ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 26, 2014) – A former prisoner was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman in the town of Lapuyan in Zamboanga del Sur in Mindanao, police said Monday.
Police said Donald Gantonoc, 44, was drunk and had threatened his own mother and villagers with a knife when he was attacked in the village of Bulawan.
Gantonoc was shot three times in the head and chest with a .45-caliber pistol and died instantly. The gunman fled after the killing.
It was not immediately known if any of Gantonoc’s neighbor or family witnessed the attack, but police said it is investigating the shooting. (Mindanao Examiner)
