Ex-Marines hacked by neighbor in Zamboanga City

Chief Editor May 4, 2017

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A former Marine soldier who allegedly mauled his neighbor in Zamboanga City was hacked by his victim’s son, who later escaped following the bloody confrontation, police said on Thursday.

Police said the 52-year old Honorrio Navarro was rushed to hospital after being hacked in the head and fingers by Jehan Kara, 28, in the village of Baliwasan Grande on Wednesday. Kara fled after the attack and leaving behind the bloodied Navarro.

Initial investigation by the police showed that Kara’s father, Habbenaser, 54, told the former soldier to dispose his garbage properly. But Navarro was offended by this and allegedly told Habbenaser that he can eat all his trash and eventually mauled his neighbor, according to the police.

Kara, who saw the whole incident, ran inside their house and returned with a bolo and started attacking Navarro. It was unknown whether the former Marines would file charges against Kara or not. (Mindanao Examiner)
