Ex-soldier shot in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 20, 2014) – Motorcycle gunmen shot and seriously wounded a former army soldier in a daring attack in Pagadian City in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Tuesday.

Police said Orlando Tomboc was driving his motorcycle when one of two gunmen shot him in the face at the Agora market in downtown Pagadian. The gunmen fled after the shooting.

Tomboc, a resident of Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur, was rushed to the hospital.

Police said the motive of the attack is still unknown and no individual or group claimed responsibility for the shooting. (Mindanao Examiner)
