
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 21, 2013) – Police is investigating the killing of a farmer who was shot Friday at the back of his house in the town of Labangan in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, a police spokesman said.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca said the 39-year old Solomon Onido was killed by a lone gunman at around 6 a.m. He said Onido at the back of their house to urinate when he was attacked.
Huesca said the victim was shot twice at close range and died instantly.
He said the gunman fled after the shooting. It was not immediately known if there was a witness to the killing.
The motive of the murder is still unknown, but Huesca said police is investigating the killing. Onido’s family did not give any statement about the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
