BASILAN PROVINCE – Three members of a farming family was found dead Monday inside a kiln in Isabela City in Basilan province in the restive Muslim autonomous region in Mindanao, police said.

Police identified the dead as Rotillo Gonzaga, 57; his wife Lucia, 47, and their 11-year old son Virgilio whose bodies were discovered at Campo Barn in the village of Kapayawan.

An investigation was launched by the police to determine who was behind the grisly murders.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killings as police questioned several people in the area to aid them in the investigation.

Relatives of the victims condemned the killings and demanded justice for the murders. The news of the brutal killings quickly spread in the village and sent shivers to many people in the area. (Ely Dumaboc – Mindanao Examiner)
