ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 1, 2013) – A passenger was thrown off a bus and was hit by another bus after a near collision Friday in Tungawan town in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay, police said.
Police said Martinez Bajao, 46, of Zamboanga City, was instantly killed after being sideswiped by a Rural Transit bus driven by Sulpicio Andujar, 30. The bus also rammed a thatched hut owned by Buenaventura Bisana.
Bajao’s body was brought to Zamboanga City. The two buses were also impounded by the police as investigation continues.
Police said Andujar avoided a head-on collision with Liza May bus, whose driver Faustino Pesquira, 44, encroached the opposite lane. Pesquira lost control of the wheel and landed in a canal, injuring several passengers. (Mindanao Examiner)
