DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 23, 2013) – Police arrested a 54-year old man for mauling his widowed septuagenarian partner in the coastal town of Liloy in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Norte.
Police said Romulo Bayubay was arrested after neighbors phoned authorities to say that he was beating Rosario Borling, 71, during a heated argument in their home in the village of San Isidro.
Borling sustained injuries and bruises in the different parts of her body from beatings she received.
Policemen brought the elderly woman to the hospital where is currently confined. The extent of Borling’s injuries was not immediately known.
Bayubay is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women. (Mindanao Examiner)
