ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 11, 2013) – A huge fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near the port area in Isabela City in the southern Philippine province of Basilan.
The fire left dozens of people homeless and also burned down several small establishments, mostly roadside eateries.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection and the local police have began a separate investigation into the fire to determine whether it was deliberately set off or not.
There was no immediate report of casualties. (Mindanao Examiner)
