Kidnap
COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 211, 2011) – A Filipino gold and antique trader was kidnapped by gunmen in the southern province of Maguindanao, reports said Friday.
It said armed men seized Dominador Berdin, 52, at a resort in the town of Datu Odin Sinsuatwhere he and a local partner met with several men who were selling gold.
Berdin, who came from MandaluyongCity in Luzon Island, was forcibly taken by the same group, but left his unidentified partner unharmed and told the police about the incident.
Police, who responded to the report, arrested two men – Norodin Malik Andil and Ryan Usman – but failed to catch up with the group who took Berdin to a waiting motorboat and escaped towards the Liguasan marsh.
Berdin and his partner were lured to the town by the men who claimed to have hordes of gold and antique items. No group claimed responsibility for the abduction. (MindanaoExaminer)
