DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 28, 2014) – Got Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization, has opened two Got Heart Community Shops in Davao City in southern Philippines.

It said the stores are located at Unit 7, 5/F, The Peak, Gaisano Mall of Davao along J.P. Laurel Avenue and at 37 Ecoland Subdivision, Phase 1.

The first Got Heart store opened on Esteban Abada at Loyola Heights in Quezon City in 2013.

Sharing the same vision with Peace and Equity Foundation, the store sells organic produce like coffee from Atok, Benguet; muscovado sugar from Lau-an Antique; salad greens and vegetables from farms in Balibago and San Jose Tarlac; kerobee products such as banaba, lemongrass, guyabano from Benguet; organic rice planted and harvested by Aetas from Tarlac; Mangyan honey from Pola, Oriental Mindoro; and hand-made crafts such as T’nalak, pillowcases, brass bells, accessories made by T’boli artisans.

“Got Heart began a social enterprise by buying and selling organic products from farmers, out-of-school youth, and indigenous groups. Together with the Peace and Equity Foundation, Got Heart aims to help selected communities improve the quality of their lives through sustainable growth and development,” it said in a statement sent to the regional newspaper Mindanao Examiner.

It said aside from natural food and indigenous products, the newly opened store in Davao also features artworks of Jeff Bangot, Anton Cadayona, Jun Cayas, Victor Damaguing, Kublai Millan, Jon Traya, and Melissa Yeung.
