
ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR (Mindanao Examiner / May 2, 2013) – Unidentified gunmen killed a pro-government militia in an attack in Zamboanga del Sur’s Molave town in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said Danny Alvarico was resting in his house in the village of Lower Dimalinao when armed men opened fire with automatic weapons and killing him instantly.
The motive of the attack is still unknown, but police investigators recovered bullet casings fired from an Ak-47 and M16 rifles in the area.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body, police said, adding the attackers fled after the killing. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack. (Mindanao Examiner)
