PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 16, 2014) – Motorcycle gunmen killed a municipal employee and wounded his companion in an attack in Dinas town in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippine, police said.
Police said Alberto Palahang, 38, who worked for the municipal government of Guipos, was on a motorcycle with his brother, Regie Palahang and friend Balong Sebolin, when gunmen attacked them at Purok 4 in the village of Legarda.
Sebolin was shot in the hand while the victim’s brother escaped unhurt from the attackers, who tailed them from the village of Ignacip Garrata.
The shooters escaped after the attack. Police said the victim was shot several times and died instantly. No individual claimed responsibility for the attack. (Mindanao Examiner)
