SULTAN KUDARAT – A grenade attack on a festival in Isulan town in the southern Philippine province of Sultan Kudarat wounded at least a dozen people, police said.
Police said the explosion occurred late Saturday while locals were celebrating the provincial founding anniversary. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the explosion, but police launched an investigation to determine the motive for the attack.
Senior Superintendent Danny Reyes, the provincial police chief, said they have tightened security in Sultan Kudarat following the blast.
He said policemen were searching for the grenade thrower. (Rose Muneza)
