Grenade

COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 22, 2012) – One person was killed and three others were wounded in a grenade attack at a Muslim family in the restive province of Maguindanao in the southern Philippines, reports said.

It said the attack occurred late Thursday in the town of Shariff Aguak. The victims were resting when an unidentified man lobbed the grenade inside their house.

The motive of the attack is still unknown and authorities are investigating whether it was connected to family feud, politics or clan war.

Clan war is not uncommon in Maguindanao, one of five provinces under the Muslim autonomous region, where family feud could last for many decades.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the blast that wounded three children. (Mindanao Examiner)
