
MK2 fragmentation grenade
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 21, 2013) – Police on Monday reported a grenade explosion at a village in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines.
Police said the blast occurred in the house of Alnasir Suhuri at Purok Talisay B in NJK Subdivision in the village of Cawit. It said the grenade was lobbed in the garage of Suhuri’s house where it exploded.
The blast damaged the facade of the house and a van parked inside the garage. Police investigators have recovered the grenade’s safety lever, pin and fuse. It said the attacker used an MK2 fragmentation grenade.
There was no report of casualties or injuries and police are still investigating who was behind the attack and its motive. The occupants of the house did not give any statement to the press about the attack. (Mindanao Examiner)
