PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 5, 2014) – A lone gunman barged inside a house in Mahayag town in Zamboanga Del Sur province in southern Philippines and killed one occupant before escaping under cover of darkness, police said Saturday.
Victim Jomar Gantalao tried to flee from the masked gunman, but he was chased and shot repeatedly, his mother told police investigators. Police said the killing occurred on June 4.
Police said Gantalao was about to sleep with his partner Analyn Pelayre in the room and his mother Marcelina in another quarter when the gunmen barged in the house after destroying the front door.
Both women were left unharmed by the killer, whose identity remains unknown, police said, adding, it is investigating the motive of the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
