
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 3, 2014) – An unidentified gunman shot and wounded a four-year old boy in an attack that missed his father in the town of Kumalarang in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said the victim, Feleciano Nemaria, Jr was rushed to hospital, but his condition is still unknown. He was shot in the head with a .45-caliber pistol by the gunman.
The assailant aimed for the boy’s father, but missed and hit the kid instead. Police said the shooting occurred at the town’s market where the family has a meat stall. The gunman fled after the shooting.
The wounded boy was rushed to the Kumalarang Health Unit for first aid and later transferred to Pagadian City Medical Center.
Police are investigating the motive of the attack. (Mindanao Examiner)
