
KIDAPAWAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 9, 2012) – Unidentified gunmen killed a village official in an attack in the southern Philippine city of Kidapawan, police said Monday.
It said the victim, Pedring Tuan, 50, was shot at least 3 times in the body at around 8.20 p.m. on Sunday outside the Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces Cathedral.
No individual claimed responsibility for the attack whose motive is still being investigated by the police, said police chief Renante Cabico.
Police have tightened security in Kidapawan following the killing.The victim’s family did not give any statement to the media about the possible motive in the murder or whether the official had received death threats.(Geonarri Solmerano)
