LANAO DEL SUR (Mindanao Examiner / May 19, 2014) – The Philippine Army said a public prosecutor was killed in an ambush on Monday in Marawi City in Lanao del Sur, one of five provinces under the troubled Muslim autonomous region.
It said lawyer Saipal Alawi, 64, was killed in the attack. No other details were made available by the army on the attack. Alawa was heading home when gunmen ambushed him.
The motive of the attack is also unknown and no individual or group claimed responsibility for the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
