COTABATO CITY – Armed men have seized a businessman and his employee in Cotabato City in southern Philippines, police said Wednesday.
It said the 30-year TJ Macabalang, owner of a decal and car stickers shop; and his mechanic Wendel Pactuan, 19, were abducted at dusk on Tuesday along Gov. Gutierrez Avenue.
The duo was waiting for their motorcycle buyer when gunmen arrived in two vehicles and seized them.
Police said the motive of the abduction is still unknown, but this occurred while the country is under a state of national emergency imposed by President Rodrigo Duterte in an effort to address lawlessness in the Philippines. (Mindanao Examiner)
