Hataman inaugurates P12.7M bridge in Lanao del Sur

Desk Editor February 17, 2016

COTABATO CITY – Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) led the inauguration Monday of the P12.7 million Ramain bridge in the municipality of Bubong in Lanao del Sur.

The 61.36-meter composite concrete-steel bridge has a 20-44-ton vehicle capacity and connects the city of Marawi to the municipalities of Masiu and Bubong. It was originally constructed in 1969 and was rehabilitated under the auspices of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the ARMM’s Department of Public Work and Highways (DPWH).

Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal A. Adiong, Jr. thanked the ARMM government for the project and said the bridge will ease the movement of people and goods and will have an immense social and economic impact in the area.

The ARMM government will implement a record number of infrastructure projects this year to help uplift the economic and social condition in the region.

A total of P10 billion has been earmarked from the ARMM’s 2016 annual budget for regional infrastructure projects. The projects include 46 bridges, 14 flood control units, 54 water supply systems, 12 drainage systems, 25 seaports, 485.726 kilometers of roads and 41 other infrastructures. (Bureau of Public Information)
