Two Canadian NHL teams looked for a win at home on Friday night.
Here’s how things turned out:
Johnny Hockey burns the Bruins
Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau was a force in a thrilling back and forth match against the visiting Boston Bruins, earning his second career hat trick by scoring the game-winner in overtime.
It was a very memorable night for the 22-year-old, who recorded his first career four-point game with the assist he added on Mark Giordano’s first period goal.
With the 5-4 triumph, Calgary extended their winning streak at home to six games.
Nilsson near perfect for Oilers
Edmonton goalie Anders Nilsson stopped all but one of the 43 shots he faced from the league-leading Stars to help his team to a 2-1 overtime victory.
Jordan Eberle scored 45 seconds into extra time to keep the Oilers home win streak alive at three.(CBC Sports)
