MANILA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has arrived in Manila on Sunday for a three-day visit following President Aquino’s invitation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said the visit, the first for Widodo, is a part of showing cooperation and unity to fellow leaders in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries.
Widodo was former governor of Jakarta before assuming the presidency on October 20 last year. Both leaders are expected to discuss matters of mutual concern, including issues on migrant workers, maritime cooperation, defense, trade and investment and people-to-people exchanges, the DFA said,
The Philippines is the final stop of Widodo’s three-country swing which has taken him to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. (Mindanao Examiner)Like Us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mindanaoexaminer
