ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 22, 2012) – Nilamon ng apoy ang isang commercial center sa bayan ng Jolo sa Sulu province, ngunit himalang walang nasawi o nasugatan sa naganap.

Sinabi ng pulisya na nagsimula ang sunog bago mag alas 9 ng gabi nitong Huwebes at natapos madaling araw kanina. Tinatayang nasa P50 milyon ang naabo sa nasabing sunog sa downtown Jolo.

Hindi pa mabatid ang dahilan ng sunog at patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng Bureau of Fire Protection upang alamin kung arson ba o faulty electrical wiring connection o kaya ay aksidente ang nangyari.

Nahirapan umano ang mga bumbero sa pagpatay sa lumalagablab na apoy dahil nasunog ang textile section ng nasabing commercial center na kalapit lamang ngf pinakamalaking mosque sa Sulu na kalapit rin lamang ng cathedral.

Nadamay na rin ang ibat-ibang mga stalls na gawa sa kahoy sa naturang lugar. (Mindanao Examiner)
