It is 47 months now since the Maguindanao massacre where at least 32 journalists were among 57 people brutally murdered.
‘On October23, 2013 – the nation marks the 47th month since Ampatuan massacre, the brutish incident has put the country in the list of the world’s most murderous countries for journalists. Sadly, nearly four years after the massacre, 94 suspects remain at large; and of the 101 suspects already arraigned, only five are Ampatuans.
Despite the slow pace of the trial and challenges they are facing, families of the victims, their lawyers, journalists, and free expression advocates remain undaunted and hopeful that truth and justice will prevail’ – National Union of Journalists of the Philippines
