THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT will help build another two-classroom building for pupils of the Isidoro Lonzaga Memorial Elementary School (ILMES) in Barangay Magsaysay here that was burned last week.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista visited ILMES on Tuesday and assured school officials that the city will build the new building as soon as possible.
Evangelista also instructed the Kidapawan City Schools Division Superintendent Rommel Flores to coordinate with his office for any assistance to the affected Grade 4 and 5 students.
“The students badly need the classrooms for their studies especially this rainy season,” Evangelista said.
Flores reported to Evangelista that other schools in the city have provided assistance like armchairs so Grades 4 and 5 pupils could still continue classes. Flores lauded Evangelista for visiting the burnt school building.
Affected pupils are currently using the school’s covered court as a temporary learning center. Faulty electrical wiring triggered the conflagration on Friday, June 21.(By Edwin Fernandez)
