The Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) reported to have neutralized a drug peddler in the municipality of Malabang in a drug buy-bust operation on Tuesday, March 5.
Initial police investigation disclosed that the 28-year old suspect immediately pulled out his caliber .45 pistol after he sensed that he was dealing with a police poseur buyer. This prompted an armed confrontation between him and the operating troops resulting to his death.
Police operatives recovered from the suspect a 1911 A1 model caliber .45 pistol bearing serial number 258311, with magazine in, loaded with six live ammunitions, one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride, and one P200 bill marked money.
The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Malabang Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and documentation while the cadaver of the suspect was claimed by his immediate relatives.
Police Provincial Director Madzgani Mukaram said the active support of the community and the determination of the local executives to eradicate illegal drugs lead to the successful anti-illegals operation.
“This only connotes the truth in the saying that the community is the police and the police is the community,” Mukaram added. (By Lanao del Sur PPO)
