Landslides, flash floods dala ni ‘Onyok’ sa Mindanao

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Halos baha ang malaking bahagi ng Caraga region sa Mindanao matapos na humagupit ngayon Sabado ang bagyong Onyok at ayon sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council ay umabot na sa tatlong dosena ang kumpirmadong nasawi sa kalamidad sa bansa na sanhi naman ng bagyong Nona.

Sa Bayugan City sa Agusan del Sur province at sa Tandag City sa Surigao del Sur ay hindi na madaanan ng mga sasakyan ang ibat-ibang kalsada dahil sa matinding pagbaha sanhi ng mga umapaw na ilog doon.

Kaliwa’t-kanan rin ang landslides sa Bayugan, partikular sa lugar ng Calaitan, at maging ang highway na nagdudugtong sa ng lungsod sa Tandag ay nahagip na rin ng landslides dahil sa walang tigil na buhos ng malakas na ulan. Umapaw rin ang Wawa River sa Bayugan.

Sinabi ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration na malaking bahagi ng Mindanao ang may low pressure dahil sa bagyong Onyok.

Sa northern Mindanao ay tiyatayang aabot sa 2,000 ang pasaherong stranded sa daungan ng  Cagayan de Oro City dahil sa masamang panahon matapos na kanselahin ng Coast Guard ang paglalayag ng mga barko.

Karamihan sa mga bumibiyahe sa Cagayan de Oro ay mula Cebu at vice versa. (Mindanao Examiner)
