
TACURONG CITY – A 34-year old woman who survived a brutal attack that left killed four people had died in hospital in Tacurong City in southern Philippines, her family and relatives said Tuesday.
They said Regine Dalogdog, a native of General Santos City, died shortly after giving a statement to the police about the recent attack that killed her companions – Rhea Macion Ramirez, 26, of General Santos City; Jhoan Mamon, 28, Columbio town in Sultan Kudarat province; Manuel Rafael Juan, 30, of Tacurong City, and another whose first name is Pedro, 27, also of Tacurong City.
The woman was shot in the face when policemen found her at a rice paddy. Her statement was not made public by authorities, saying, there is an ongoing investigation to determine the motive and the perpetrators of the attack.
Local police chief Superintendent Junny Buenacosa said a tricycle that the victims used was also recovered near the area where the five had been shot. He said the bodies of the victims were peppered with bullets.
He said police were still investigating the motive of the killings. Policemen recovered bullet casings fired from a 9mm pistol. (Rose Muneza and Cris Jay Diaz)
