COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 26, 2014)- Motorcycle gunmen shot and wounded a village chieftain in an attack in Cotabato City in southern Philippines, police and military said.
Adnan Biruar, who is also a member of the Maguindanao provincial council, was walking home when the gunmen shot him several times.
The 44-year old official, who is the village chieftain in Bongo Island in Parang town, was attacked Sunday morning near his house along Mabini Street.
The motive of the shooting is still unknown and police are investigating whether the attack was political or connected to a feud. The military said it was helping the local police in the investigation. (Mindanao Examiner)
