DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 16, 2014) – Police arrested a 27-year old man who stole over P3 million worth of jewelries from his widowed grandmother in the southern Philippines.
It said Glen Roy Pangilayan, a resident of Dumaguete City in central Philippines, was arrested at Nanyang Pension House in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte province after policemen tracked him down.
Police said Pangilayan stole the jewelries from the house of Virginia Culanculan, 64, in the town of Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay province. The jewelries were recovered and returned to the woman.
It was unknown whether his grandmother would press charges against Pangilayan who is currently detained in Ipil town after police handed him over to local authorities. (Mindanao Examiner)
