BASILAN PROVINCE (Mindanao Examiner / July 24, 2013) – One person was killed and his companion wounded in an attack by motorcycle gunmen in Isabela City in the southern Philippine province of Basilan, police said.
Police said the attackers escaped after the shootings late Tuesday in the village of La Piedad.
The motive of the attack is still unknown, but police suspect the killing was connected to illegal drugs after investigators allegedly found drug paraphernalia from the scene of the crime.
No individual claimed responsibility for the killing and police are investigating the attack. (Richard Falcatan)
