TACURONG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 3, 2014) – A man was killed in a gun attack in Tacurong City in southern Philippines in what police said was probably connected to illegal drugs.
Police said the victim, Long Karatong, a native of Sultan Kudarat’s President Quirino town, was with two companions when he was attacked by two motorcycle gunmen along Alunan Avenue.
Karatong died instantly from multiple gunshots, but his two companions were unhurt from the shooting which occurred before midnight Saturday. The assailants fled after the attack.
Policeman Reggie Runia said Karatong was shot at least 5 times and that drug paraphernalia and a glass tooter used in sniffing shabu were recovered from the victim. (Rose Muneza and Deanna Diaz)
