
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 22, 2013) – A man who just came from a prayer at mosque was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Zamboanga city in the southern Philippines, police said Monday.
Police said the 35-year old Ali Akbar Abdurasa was heading when the gunmen blocked his path in the village of Taluksangay and shot him several times. The attackers escaped after the shooting.
“The victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body causing his instantaneous death. Follow- up investigation is being undertaken by the police to determine the identity and motive of the suspects,” said Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Huesca said Abdurasa was a seaweed farmer and a naïve of Surabay town in Zamboanga Sibugay province.
The motive of the killing is still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
